Aggies Keep on Rolling

History is being made everyday as the Aggies continue the most dominant run ever in school history. The Aggies were on the road and had a comeback victory versus Charleston Southern defeating the Buccaneers 27 to 21. This was the first time ever the programs have ever faced each other and the Bucs will be making the trip to Greensboro next year. This game also marked the programs 13 consecutive win against a non-conference FCS opponent.

Coach Washington's team is fresh off their bye week and are riding high entering their fourth game. They feel good and have been playing great. Sitting at (2-1) A&T is currently the #18 school in the FCS polls and earned victories over cross town foe #24 Elon and Charleston Southern and will continue their quest for another MEAC championship and Celebration Bowl title as they will begin conference play this week.

Junior running back Jah-Maine Martin has been the engine for the Aggie offense. He rushed for a career high 25 carries, 299-yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. This accomplishment is the third best in school history and he is the ninth running back to ever record more than 200-yards in a game. The electrifying back is on pace for a 1,000-yard season a trend very common at Running Back U. Martin already has 435 rushing yards which is the fourth most at the FCS level. He was also named national player of the week by FCS Stats and player of the week by the MEAC for his week 3 performance.

Senior wide receiver Elijah Bell is leaving his mark on the field as one of the greatest to ever suit up for the blue and gold. With one record already reached this season becoming the schools all-time leader in receiving touchdowns, he just surpassed Aggie legend Herbert Harbison to become the all-time leader in receiving yards with 2,347-yards and he and QB Kylil Carter connected for a 42-yard pass. Bell isn't done yet though as he still has a final case to cement his legacy as the best ever, he is just 11 receptions away from capturing the triple crown and has a chance to become to all-time leader in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

The team will look to stay on the winning side of things and will get back to work as they are back home in Greensboro after a two game road trip. They will be taking on conference opponent Delaware State, who they defeated 34 to 6 a season ago to begin their MEAC play.

Looking to win their fifth MEAC title in a span of six years the Aggies will seek to continue their dominance. Over the last 5 years A&T is (33-6) against MEAC opponents. During the 2018 season the Aggie defense only surrendered 12 points per game against over MEAC teams. The defense who has yet to get a shut out this season will try to impose their will as they take on the Hornets.

The game kicks off this Thursday at 7:30 pm and will be televised live on ESPN U as Coach Washington and company will take on Delaware State and look to add another win in the win column.
